Commissioners Address Pine Dumping Issue
The Elmore County Commissioners met on Aug. 17 to address and discuss current issues in the county. The commissioners began by speaking with Katie Hughes about a swimming pool in her yard. Ordinance says that if a pool is over two feet deep, it requires a six foot barrier to be in place. Hughes did not have a barrier, but was told she could remedy the issue by simply putting up a six foot wire fence.
The commissioners accepted public input from Rob Johnson, of Hammett, ID, who wished to speak to the board about an issue he is having with his neighbor. Johnson said his neighbors previously had ten greyhound dogs in their backyard and the yard was littered with raw meat and bones which looked to be from a deer or horse. Johnson said the smell from the meat was getting "horrible." For the full story, pick up a copy of the Mountain Home News or click on this link to subscribe to the newspaper's online edition.
