WECRD moving forward with plans for a pool

Thursday, May 31, 2018

The Western Elmore County Recreation District has had a very busy May. The directors cannot speak to each other outside of public meetings and there are a number of items to discuss regarding the construction of a recreational facility and the ongoing attempts to sell Railroad Park. A decision was made last month to begin holding meetings every Wednesday at 6 p.m. The majority of the meetings are quick and discussions revolve around things having to do with the daily operations of the district, such as who to use as a website carrier, a fence at the park that needs some repair work and other small items. The fourth Wednesday of the month is considered the regular scheduled monthly meeting and items such as the monthly financial reports are reviewed and other items like the sale of the park and a recreation building are discussed more in depth. For the full story, pick up a copy of the Mountain Home News or click on this link to subscribe to the newspaper's online edition.

What a colossal waste of taxpayer monies. The few who say they will be using the pool, will not be willing to pay to support the cost of maintenance. Way to go :(

Did not know that WECRD was created to take over programs that the City has not been able to manage effectively. Seems to me that they are taking over more and more Parks and Recreation type actions. Just my view.
