Idaho National Guard looking to expand in Elmore County
The March 16, meeting of the Elmore County Commissioners had discussions on two interesting developments in the county.
Courtney Lewis who is the Director of Economic Development for the city of Mountain Home and Christy Accord who is the Executive Director for Southwest Idaho Rural Development approached the board to bring up the subject of foreign trade in the county.
Lewis and Accord have had discussions with Steve Fultz who is the Director of Economic Development for Caldwell, ID, and Director of Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) 280 which was granted to the Southwest Idaho Manufacturer's Alliance. Elmore County and the city of Mountain Home are interested in becoming part of the FTZ, that was started in Caldwell, as a sattelite zone.
