Fair Board petitions County Commissioners for paid position

The morning of Aug. 18 got off to a rocky start at the County Commissioners meeting when a complicated taxing issue made itself know.

Amy Davidson purchased a parcel of land in the county back in March, but then the previous owner decided to donate a portion of the land she bought at the beginning of June, even though Davidson never granted a property release and was unaware of this transaction.

Davidson found herself put in a position where she had to pay taxes on this land now, instead of on Dec. 20.
