Gregory Rutherford
Beloved husband, son, brother and friend, Gregory Scott Rutherford, 53, of Mountain Home passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, August 7, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
Greg was born June 27, 1964 in Council, Idaho to Jack and Sharon Rutherford. Greg attended school in Mountain Home.
In August of 1984, Greg joined the US Army and was honorably discharged in January 1989. During this time, he spent most of his tour in Germany and really enjoyed his time there. After his return, he joined the Army National Guard.
Greg married Kimberly Freeman at the Church of the Wild Wood in Featherville, Idaho on June 17, 2000. Together they enjoyed going to the Oregon Coast and visiting its many lighthouses, spending time together exploring the surrounding mountains with family and visiting with their friends.
Greg was a big-hearted and giving man that would do what he could if someone was in need.
Greg was preceded in death by his father Jack Rutherford, his step father Al Petzoldt, maternal grandparents Al Cutler, and Helen and John Hathhorn and his paternal grandparents Janet and Slim Rutherford.
Greg is survived by his wife Kimberly, mother Sharon Petzoldt, brothers Brad (Crystal) Rutherford, Stacy (Susie) Rutherford and Aaron (Misty) Petzoldt , his uncle Tony Hathhorn, mother in law and her husband Connie and Ron Jacobsen, father in law Roy Freeman, grandfather in law Carlos Powell, sister in law Kristine and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will be deeply missed.
