Taking the plunge...

Local law enforcement and Mayor Rich Sykes participated in a fundraiser for the Mountain Home Special Olympics team the morning of August 5. These "Penguins" raised a minimum of $50 in pledges before jumping into the pool at Richard Aguirre Park, with plans to participate again next summer.

Officers took the plunge in uniform as a show of support for the local team. Most of the officers were recruited by Officer Dan Dak (pictured in the back row on the right with his arm around a fellow officer), who plans to recruit more next year.

The lone representative from City Hall, Mayor Sykes jumped multiple times, including a flip off the diving board.
