Recall against WECRD board moves forward

For the second time in two years, two of the Western Elmore County Recreation District's directors are facing the possibility of being removed from office after a group of local residents submitted a recall petition containing more than 1,700 signatures from voters in the Mountain Home area.

The collected signatures from registered voters were submitted to the Elmore County clerk on Monday with the county elections office expected to take up to 15 days to verify those signatures.

In April, a group of concerned citizens known as the Friends for Recreation, initiated the recall petition with the stated purpose to remove Judy Mayne and Art Nelson from their board positions.
