Ruthada Powell
Ruthada Powell of Mountain Home, Idaho, died on May 22, 2017, in her home with her daughter, Connie Abie, and her sister, Margaret Bryson by her side.
Ruthada was born on June 24, 1931, in Payne, Idaho, and was a resident of Mountain Home for over 40 years. She was a member of the Mountain Home Senior Center for many years and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign War.
Proceeding her in death were her father, George Gifford, and mother Alice Kite; step-father Rex Kite and step-mother Ella Gifford, brothers Irvin and Leo Gifford, sister Evelyn Maybon, son Eddie Johnson, grandson William Johnson and great-grandson Joshua Squiers.
Ruthada is survived by her sister, Margaret Bryson of Emmitt, Idaho; sons Raymond Johnson of Hawthorn, Nev., and Douglas Johnson of Winnemucca, Nev.; daughter Connie Abie of Phoenix, Ariz.; along with many step-brothers, step-sisters, nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Memorial services for Ruthada have been tentatively set for June 24, 2017, in Bruneau, Idaho. More details will be provided later when arrangements have been fully set.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mountain Home Senior Center or the Mountain Home VFW in her honor.
