Patriot Thunder scheduled
The sound of thunder returns to Mountain Home on Sunday during a yearly observance aimed at showing appreciation for those who serve their nation.
Celebrating its eighth year, Patriot Thunder represents the state's premier military family charity motorcycle event that directly helps service members, veterans and their families, according to event spokesman Todd Godfrey.
As of Thursday morning, 400 riders had already signed up with others expected to register the morning of the event. The Idaho Transportation Department limited total participation to 1,200 motorcycles, citing safety concerns of having that many vehicles traveling in one large group on the interstate at the same time.
