A lesson on safety
Andy Hartman with Idaho Power highlights some of the equipment linemen with the utility company use to reach power lines as he meets with students from McKenna Montessori school during a recent gathering. Hartman and Vance Poe from Idaho Power visited the school to explain how various protective items work while allowing the students to see and touch these different pieces of equipment. Hartman also demonstrated pole climbing and what happens if the climber slips while explaining how a safety belt keeps them from falling to the ground. During the month, the charter elementary school has hosted similar presentations, including a Cinco de Mayo program hosted by the Elmore County Hispanic Organization's Folkloric Dancers.
