Giving children a reason to smile

Thressa Fogleman, a dental hygienist from The Dental Center in Mountain Home, cleans Skylar's teeth during an exam Friday morning. The local dental clinic provided free checkups and routine care for youngsters of selected families in the Mountain Home area during this year's "Give Kids A Smile" program. The program is geared for those ages 4 to 18 from families that are uninsured or under-insured. The nationwide initiative provides dental treatment for the children of families who otherwise couldn't afford this type of service.
