Officer of the year selected

Police Cpl. Stan Winings was named the city's officer of the year while the local police association selected Rogena Beaux as the association's member of the year.

For his contributions to the local community, the Mountain Home Police Department's community policing officer was honored with the department's officer of the year award.

Police Cpl. Stan Winings received the honor during the Mountain Home Police Association's annual Christmas party, held last month.
