Library lecture set for Jan. 18
Historic cemeteries in southern Idaho will take center stage as the Bruneau Valley Library launches its "Bruneau and Beyond" program Jan. 18.
The event features a presentation by Molly Humphreys, a practicing archaeologist and historian for nearly 30 years with much of her archaeological work involving Owyhee County
A native Idahoan born and raised in Mountain Home, Humphreys earned her bachelor's degree in anthropology followed by a master's degree in historic archaeology and history from Boise State University. Her presentation will highlight that, despite their differences, historic cemeteries are somber places although they include some humorous moments in local ancestry.
The free program begins with a light luncheon. However, the library staff asks that people wanting to attend to call 845-2282 or 845-2131 by Monday to ensure adequate food is prepared.
