Sonic boom shakes town

A loud rumbling sound that shook the ground in the Mountain Home area Saturday afternoon was likely connected to a sonic boom produced by a fighter jet from Mountain Home Air Force Base, a base official reported.
Col. Jefferson O'Donnell, commander of the 366th Fighter Wing at the base, released a statement shortly after the incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. that afternoon.
