Runners compete at Wood River meet
Mountain Home High School's cross country team continued to earn various honors as they competed at the Wood River Invitational in Ketchum on Sept. 9.
Anthony DeSantis led the Tiger boys, finishing eighth overall with a time of 18 minutes, 51.55 seconds. Kyle Pendleton crossed the finish line at 19:59.7, Jordan Klein ran the course at 21:29.7, Jacob Criddle finished at 22:30.1 and Hank Parrot had a time of 23:00.5.
The team's top junior varsity runners included Aaron Yost, who finished with a time of 23 minutes, 8.2, and Bryce Sloan with a time of 24:58.0.
Mountain Home's Lady Tiger runners placed second overall behind a very strong team from Twin Falls, which earned a perfect score of 15. Mountain Home earned 74 points with Kimberly finishing third with 81.
Wood River came in fourth with a score of 84 followed by Burley with 119 and Canyon Ridge at 148.
Leading the Lady Tigers were Kjnara Swanson, who finished ninth overall with a time of 23 minutes, 58.2 seconds. Alexis Georgianna was 10 at 24:03.2, Emily Lampman came in 13 at 24:31.0, Camille Ochoa finished 15th at 24:33.0, and Elizabeth Stephens was 34 at 27:06.2.
Running in the girls junior varsity race were Joy Findley, who placed ninth with a time of 26 minutes, 49. 8 seconds, while Makayla Clark finished 24th at 29:30.9.
The Tigers cross country team remained on the road last week, competing at the Canyon Ridge Invitational in Twin Falls on Sept. 14. They remain on the road this week as they travel to the Jerome Invitational on Friday before they compete at the the Gary Ward Classic at Valivue on Sept. 29.
The team returns home Oct. 7 as they host the Mountain Home Invitational. They close out their regular season on Oct. 13 as they travel to Elko, Nev., to compete in the Elko Invitational.
