Richard Allen Stockwell Sr., 84 of Mountain Home, passed away on June 27, 2016, with loving family by his side. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. His upbeat personality and sense of humor will be especially remembered and missed.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, and burial with full military honors will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home.
He was a very kindhearted and giving man who loved visiting with friends at the Elk's Lodge, of which he was a dedicated and faithful member. He was a person often described as the nicest guy they had ever met.
His contagious smile and the sparkle in his eye drew people to him. His family and friends will dearly miss him and remember his infectious humor, heart and strength that was so much a part of him.
Richard is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Rita Agnes Stockwell of 37 amazing years.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Sharon Rogers (Brian) of Gales Ferry, Conn.; and sons Richard Stockwell Jr. (Jill) of Eagle, Idaho, and Michael Stockwell of Boise, Idaho. He also had eight grandchildren, Trenton, Leah, Guy, Quinn, Gabrielle, Grace, Meg and Kole, and two great-grandchildren, Kaley and Cash.
The family would especially like to thank the professional and endearing staff of the St Luke's ICU team for their dedication and endearing support. "You were nothing short of incredible."
