Annemarie Becker
Annemarie Elizabeth Becker, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at her home, May 18, 2016, after a strong battle with cancer. Her husband and son were at her side.
At her request, no services will be held. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Annemarie was born April 27, 1960, in Leicestershire, England, to Brian Harvey and Cynthia Whyle. She also had two brothers and a sister.
After Annemarie finished school in England, she found her way over the "pond" and into the States. She had many friends which meant the world to her. She even called them family and would do anything at the drop of a hat.
Annemarie grew up with a passion for horses, and her horsemanship truly shined. She learned at a young age and competed in England, showing and show jumping. When Annemarie finally made it to the states in her 20s, she met Ray West and shortly got married and had a son, Nathaniel West, whom they both loved. They later separated, and Annemarie married William Becker. He remained by her side to the end.
Annemarie took on a step daughter, Selena Becker, which she loved as her own.
Annemarie's son, Nate, and his wife, Cassie, gave Annemarie a beautiful baby granddaughter named Bailey Makeda West. Annemarie was a very proud grandma. Bailey kept Annemarie fighting and pushing forward.
Annemarie enjoyed her line of work. She cleaned house for people on the side and worked for Elmore County on the maintenance crew, which included more cleaning of the Court House and other buildings.
She made numerous friends. She even took on troubled teens and had them work with her for community service hours. She touched and inspired many people and was known as "The Wicked Witch of the West!"
Annemarie had cancer and fought it. She went into remission, and we thought we had it beat, but it came back and took Annemarie at the age of 56.
Annemarie and her son, Nate, always did charity rides for St. Jude's Children Fundraiser, and at the family's request, they would like for donations to be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital rather than sending flowers that is something Mom would have wanted.
Annemarie is survived by her husband, William Becker of Mountain Home; two children, Nate West and his wife Cassie of Mountain Home; step daughter Selena Becker of Boise; her sister, Yvonne Bryant and mother Cynthia Whyle of England; and her granddaughters, Bailey West, Tyra Jones and Jennaci Harris of Mountain Home.
