Elks Lodge honors local students at yearly banquet
Local area students earned a variety of honors for academic and athletic excellence during the Elks lodge's annual youth awards banquet May 2.
More than 200 honorees and their families gathered at the Mountain Home Elks Lodge during this year's event.
Each year, the lodge sponsors a variety of programs to support local youth in the local community, said Lodge Exalted Ruler Lorin Ford, who congratulated the youth, families and the teachers that support and promote these activities.
"Without the community support we receive from all our participating volunteers, we would not have the outstanding outcome you see here this evening," Ford said.
The lodge also provides various scholarships for graduating seniors in Mountain Home and surrounding communities. The schedule of events for next year's youth activities are listed on the lodge's Facebook page. The following are this year's recipients.
