Who Would Steal a Flag??

I saddens us that someone stooped so low that they would actually pull up a 15' aluminum extendable pole with a 4' x 6' American Flag; right out of our front yard, during the night of April 11 2016.

We are both military Veterans and are proud of our service and our country. We enjoyed installing the flagpole, flag and solar light a few years ago and retire our worn Flags with all due ceremony and respect.

Not only has this theft caused sadness and the feeling of our home and neighborhood being violated; it also brings to mind fear. With all of the Anti-American and terrorist actions happening in our world now, it makes me wonder if this is a Domestic terrorist act...meant to induce fear, anger, disillusionment and violation. Part of a perfect plan to destroy America from the inside; piece by piece.

When did Americans stop seeing our flag as a symbol of eternal principles: liberty, justice, and humanity, freedom of speech, religion, assembly, the press, and the sanctity of the home. It is the sacred emblem of our country. It symbolizes our birthright, our heritage of liberty purchased with blood and sorrow.

This may have been just a thoughtless prank but stealing a United States Flag is unforgivable, it is a desecration of everything America represents.

We are patriotic, we've replace the Flagpole, Flag and solar light, but the impact of this unbelievable act will remain.

If we allow the symbol of our flag to be nullified, destroyed, and disrespected our country and our loved ones will become slaves to dictators and despots.

Is that where our Country is at? Have we forgotten the sacrifices made and lost respect for all that is sacred in the United States of America? Have we lost our vigilance to protect our freedom?
