Tree triggered power outage

A fallen tree triggered a power outage that left more than 1,500 customers in the Mountain Home area in the dark Thursday morning.
The outage was first reported at 7:12 a.m. after the tree fell onto power lines leading to Idaho Power's substation in the vicinity of Main Street at East 6th South Street, said Julie Stutts, a spokesperson with the utility company.
The outage covered an area ranging from Airbase Road to East 10th South Street and between North 10th East Street and North 23rd Street West, Stutts said.
Crews gradually restored power to customers shortly after 9 a.m. with electrical services in town fully restored at 9:24 a.m.
