Alfred Stokesberry
Alfred Drue Stokesberry, 67 of Mountain Home, Idaho, died Nov. 14, 2015, at his home with his sister, Mary, by his side. Alfred was born Jan. 16, 1948, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to parents Alfred Elisha and Mary Susan Hughes Stokesberry.
He went to school in Mountain Home and got his GED. He joined the Army in 1968 and served in Vietnam, Company C, 10th Engineering, 3rd Infantry Division. He was honorable discharged 1971. He received the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, 2 OS Bar S M16, VCM and VCM with Device Bar.
He worked on the Lucky Peak project. He worked for the Trace Inc. at Mountain Home Air Force Base as a grounds keeper; the Idahoen Potato Plant in Glenns Ferry, Idaho; Burns Security Guard in Ontario, Calif.; and mail handler for United States Post Office in San Berdino, Calif.
He is survived by his three sisters, Irene Marcoux of Florida, Elizabeth Waters of Cheyenne and Mary Stokesberry of Mountain Home; one brother Walt C. Stokesberry of Gurley, Ala.; two daughters Danielle Malmberg and Catrina Burrell, both of Colorado; and several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Alfred E. and Mary S. Stokesberry; a sister, Lucille; niece Denice Marcoux; and two grandsons, Mason Wetsit and Tyler Malmberg.
No services will be held. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home.
