Planning and zoning approves permit

A permit to open a new coffee shop in a vacant building on Airbase Road gained an initial go-ahead after the city's planning and zoning commission unanimously voted in favor of the project.
During a public meeting Sept. 8, the commission addressed a conditional use permit submitted by local residents and their plan to open Mudslingers, a drive-up coffee shop, in a building that once housed a propane retailer.
