Reuben Domke
Reuben R. Domke left this world in peace to be with our Lord and Savior June 10, 2015, after losing the battle with bone cancer but winning the battle of life. He was a very devout Christian, going to the Faith Lutheran Church in Mountain Home, a very loving husband, father and Opa. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force and Civil Service for 43 years.
He came into Idaho in 1968 and loved the beautiful countryside and all that it had to offer so much so that he decided to retire here. He was an avid hunter, fisher, camper and was at home in the outdoors. He was a jack of all trades and a master of one -- his family. He also loved going on walks in the country with his loving wife and putting a smile on her face.
Reuben was the tenth child of Fred and Alma Domke, born in Ocqueoc, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Angela (Elly); his brother, Raymond; two sons, Ronald and wife Melody and Rodney; five grandchildren, Miranda and her husband Reuben; Lee, Angela, Nicholas and Corie; and four great-grandchildren, Kaydn, Bryce, Mikayla and Maddie.
Reuben was a God-loving soul and will be missed by everyone's hearts he touched. The memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Faith Lutheran Church, 1190 North Sixth East St., or to your favorite charity in Reuben's honor. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
