Thanks for all the support

Dear editor,

My American Heritage Girls Dolley Madison project went really well. With the amazing help of the schools, businesses and the people of Mountain Home, I was able to send 106 "gifts from home" boxes to our heroes.

I would like to thank those who donated items for our military that are deployed. All together, I was thrilled to collect more than 10,000 items.

I would like to give a big thanks to all of the local businesses, schools, churches, civic groups and the countless individuals that provided all of these donations.

I would especially like to thank the Freedom Alliance for providing the soldiers' names and addresses, for paying for the postage and for all of their amazing support and encouragement.

Because of the positive response and feedback I was blessed to receive for this project, I am starting a local non-profit to make sure this is an ongoing endeavor. I am currently going through the necessary process to set up "Friends of Heroes" so we can continue to honor and support our heroes until they all return home. Monetary donations to help cover the expenses will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you students, businesses and citizens of Mountain Home. You helped make this project a great success. Many thanks.
