Correction: Mailbox incidents

The Mountain Home News incorrectly reported that three men were arrested in connection with a series of mailbox vandalism cases.

Perry Savage, Donald Binion and Patrick Coe were identified as suspects in the incidents, which occurred over a 12-day period starting in mid-April 14.

Charges are pending by the Elmore County Prosecutor's Office regarding the approximately 50 incidents, which included cases in which mailboxes were tampered with or damaged.

The Mountain Home News regrets the error.

Sounds like irresponsible reporting at best and a liable suit in the making. The damage that could be done by running peoples names without proof or clarification is amateurish, mean, and in this case could be criminal.

This correction is still confusing. It can be read several ways. Were the 3 people listed charged or not? I am not sure what you are trying to correct.

The so called writer was making liable statements not on fact but hear say and gossip. I don't know the people named but I also know they haven't been arrested and charged. Putting names out there as though they are guilty even before arrest and trial is irresponsible and they shouldn't be writers for a newspaper if that is what you might call this. If I were these guys I would hire a lawyer and sue the writer and paper for liable and distress.
