Tigers team drops conference games

The Mountain Home Tigers dropped conference tennis matches on the road at Skyview and Kuna last week.

The Mountain Home Tigers traveled to Skyview last Tuesday for a conference tennis match with the Hawks. Mountain Home was blanked by Skyview in both the girls and boys matches.

In girls singles, Kira Anderson lost the first singles match, 1-6, 0-6; Samantha Scobee lost the second match, 1-6, 2-6; and Anna Urquidi was blanked in the third match.

In girls doubles, Tia Senger and Mariah Butori lost the first match, 0-6, 0-6. Meanwhile, Kierianna Chavez and Ariel Jares dropped the second match, 1-6, 2-6.

In boys singles, Brad Foreman lost the first singles match, 2-6, 4-6; Eddie Guadarrama lost the second match, 4-6, 0-6; and Thomas Fatzinger lost the third match, 1-6, 0-6.

In boys doubles, Jarek Schetzle and Nathan Gibbons lost the first doubles match, 0-6, 2-6; and Dalton Barker and Marc Pelletier dropped the second match in a tough match, 6-7 (4-7 tie breaker), 2-6.

In mixed doubles, Miguel Pelletier and Samantha Feekes lost the first match, 1-6, 0-6; and Will King and Mady McCurdy lost the second match, 0-6, 0-6.

The Tigers traveled to Kuna on Thursday and fell to the Kavemen with the girls losing six matches and the boys facing a seven-match shutout. Mountain Home's lone win came in the first girls singles match, where Kira Anderson won, 7-5, 7-5. Samantha Scobee dropped the second match, 4-6, 1-6; and junior varsity player Rebecca Martin stepped up in the third match and lost a close one, 4-6, 4-6.

In girls doubles, Kaycee Crockett and Mariah Butori lost the first match, 2-6, 1-6; and Kierianna Chavez and Melinna Grimmius were blanked in the second match.

In boys singles, Brad Foreman was blanked in the first singles match. Eddie Guadarrama lost the second match, 1-6, 0-6; and Thomas Fatzinger lost the third singles match, 2-6, 4-6.

Last Friday's Community School match was postponed because of inclement weather in Sun Valley.

The Tigers close out their regular season schedule this week. They were home Tuesday against Caldwell for Senior Day. On Thursday, they close out their conference schedule at Middleton, and go to Sun Valley for the makeup match with The Community School on Friday.

The District III 4A junior varsity tennis tournament is Saturday at Middleton, and the District III 4A varsity tennis tournament runs from May 7 to 9 at Bishop Kelly High School in Boise.
