Giving children a reason to smile

Dr. John Goodrich from the Tooth Dome in Mountain Home places a filling on a child's tooth during an exam last Friday.

The Tooth Dome and The Dental Center joined forces this month to provide free checkups and routine care for youngsters of selected families in the Mountain Home area during this year's "Give Kids A Smile" program.

The program is geared for those ages 4 to 18 from families that are uninsured or under-insured. Hosted annual by the American Dental Association for more than 30 years, the nationwide initiative provides dental treatment for the children of families who otherwise couldn't afford this type of service.
