An independent investigation conducted by the Army concluded that the two-man flight crew experienced an emergency situation from which it was not possible to recover, leading to the crash.
During a press conference on Saturday, the Idaho National Guard released its findings into the cause of a helicopter crash last November that killed both pilots.
The crash happened around 7 p.m. Nov. 6 as Chief Warrant Officer Stien Gearhart and Chief Warrant Officer Jon Hartway were conducting an emergency procedures drill during a routine training mission.
