Missing couple found near Atlanta

An elderly couple from Boise were found near Atlanta late Thursday after they were reported missing earlier that day.
Walter Rich, 82, and Virginia Taylor, 91, were found near milepost 42 on the Middle Fork, said Elmore County Chief Deputy Mike Barclay.
The couple was last seen in the Atlanta area around 10:30 a.m. Thursday after their 1995 Buick slid into a snow bank off Mine Hill. Their car was pulled out of the snow bank, and they were escorted back to the Middle Fork Road area.
According to Barclay, the pair ended up driving again on the winter roads and ran off the pavement into a ditch. They were stranded in an area where cell phone coverage isn't readily available, he added.
The deputy added that the road is especially difficult to traverse during the winter season. Normally, it requires people with four-wheel drive vehicles to safely travel along this rural roadway.
The Elmore County Search and Rescue team was called at 6:40 p.m. Thursday to help locate the couple. The Atlanta fire chief located the man and woman around 8:20 p.m. that evening.
Barclay said both individuals remained in their car until help arrived. Neither of them required medical attention.
