Coach Bethel was pleased with his Tigers' effort against Minico.
"We had a game plan -- we kind of got off track a couple times -- but we had a game plan as to what it would take to beat these guys, and I was really impressed with how our guys executed," the coach said.
Jarek Schetzle and Jymon Garretson led the Tigers with 21 and 18 points, respectively. Tyler Park added nine, Chris Wright and Jermaine Smith both scored five, Marcus Egusquiza and Christen Riedel each had three points and Garrett McKenzie added one.
The Tigers improved to 9-2 on the season, and begin conference play this week, hosting Caldwell Wednesday night, and travel to Skyview on Saturday. The Skyview game had been moved from Friday evening to Saturday evening.
Coach Bethel hopes to use the Minico win as momentum heading into their conference season.
"We needed this tough game. Minico is a great team, I'll take nothing from them, they're a great team, and for us that's a quality win. They're as tough as anyone we'll play within our conference.
"There's no weak team in our conference this year -- any team can win on any given night -- so for us, it's one of those we've got to bring our hard-hat lunch bucket every game."
