Christmas parade a go once again

Originally facing cancellation, the city's annual Christmas parade gained a last-minute reprieve as individuals in the community came together to organize the event.

Scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5 next to the Fire Station 1, the parade will mark the first "official" appearance of Santa Claus in Mountain Home.

kudos to the citizens that figured this out in less than a week once they found out it was cancelled. Shame on the Chamber for not letting the public know more interest was needed before their decision to cancel. The citizens only found out on Facebook and took the bull by the horns to make this happen. There is your next person for citizen of the year.

You said it, Old guy! I am new to town and moved here to find that small town community feeling...it wouldnt have occured to me that there was not going to be a parade for Christmas. C'mon Chamber... keep our community tight by keeping us in the loop! We'll surely help you out! ThanX to the volunteers on this one! (Y)

A Community Parade to Bring Santa to Town - Fri. Dec 5 at 6:30 pm - (Line up at 6) Start in front of Fire Station by Pauls - up 2nd Street turn right at Sav Mor Drug - turn right 3rd to Odd Fellows - Party will start at Odd Fellows at the end of Parade - LIVE band - Cookies, Coffee and hot chocolate, hot dogs and hot choc. by Masons & Raindow Girls. Come visit with Santa with Mrs Claus & Elves and take pictures. if you want to walk (with lights), do a float or donate stuff call Theresa at 587-9116 ( Mulberry Place) or drop off items there! ** Please bring a can good or unwrapped toy to support our local's*** while you visit with Santa! MHVFD Members Account is who gave $300 to get the insurance to sponsor this event - Thanks A bunch Guys
