An Idaho Army National Guard AH-64D Apache attack helicopter with two pilots aboard crashed during a routine training mission last Thursday night approximately two miles south of Boise International Airport.

CWO4 Jon L. Hartway, left, and CWO4 Stien P. Gearhart (right) died Thursday night when the AH-64 Apache (Longbow version) attack helicopter crashed during an Idaho National Guard exercise.

Killed were Chief Warrant Officer 4 Stien P. Gearhart, 50, of Meridian, and Chief Warrant Officer 4 Jon L. Hartway, 43, of Kuna, both assigned to 1-183rd Attack Reconnaissance Battalion of the Idaho Army National Guard.
