Lady Tigers lose to Borah
The Mountain Home Lady Tigers dropped their season opening soccer game Saturday, losing a tough 3-1 contest to Borah at Borah High School.
Mountain Home scored first, getting a first half goal from Elisabeth Ryan, but could tally no more.
The Borah squad managed three goals off Mountain Home goalkeeper Missy Jessup, who had 10 saves on goal.
For their first effort of the season, and against a 5A opponent, Mountain Home coach Kent Ogaard thought his girls played well.
"It was a good initial outing, and Elisabeth Ryan's goal was a beautiful shot," the coach said following the season opener. "We challenged their defense pretty good, and held their offensive attack down.
Looking back on the game, the coach added it was a good first outing for the Lady Tigers.
"We learned some things about the team," he said. "We learned some strengths we have and some things we need to fix, and we look forward to our next matchup."
The Lady Tigers have a busy week of soccer. They were on the road to Jerome on Tuesday, travel to Columbia on Thursday, and have their home opener Friday against Twin Falls.
