Tracey Mangrum was simply enjoying a day in New York City, visiting her son, film student Chase Bennett, when she and her husband, Ansel, decided to drop by the streetside Today Show Plaza and join the crowd watching the popular NBC morning talk show.

The next thing she knew she was appearing on the show as part of the Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb "Ambush Makeover" segment.

"It was crazy," she said. "It's on YouTube and Todayshow.com and all kinds of places.
