Montanan appreciates local samaritan
Dear editor:
I rode my motorcycle from Belgrade, Mont., and was on my way to Boise. I stopped to check on the possibility of motel rooms by the Jack-in-the-Box just out of town and put my gloves on top of my bag and didn't put them back on before driving off and a car who was behind me saw this happen. I realized it pretty quickly and turned around and went back.
To my despair, they were not there. I had almost given up looking when a car pulled up and asked if I had lost my gloves. Let me just say thank you to the wonderful people who took the time to notice my error and track me down.
My son went into the service in January and got sick with pancreatitis in April and is currently in Virginia going through the medical process. The gloves are his and he gave them to me to borrow when he left.
So my first thought was "oh no, he's not going to like this!" And then, of course, I felt sad.
So, more than motorcycle gloves, your helpfulness and willingness to track me down gave me back something sentimental and showed me that people are still willing to do things like that for strangers.
Thank you so much and may God bless you.
