Mosquito abatement effort begins

The Elmore County Pest Abatement effort, in cooperation with the Central District Health department and the University of Idaho Elmore County Extension Office, have begun the mosquito season by implementing several preventative measures designed to control the mospquito population.
UI Extension Educator Mir Seyedbagheri and staff have been surveying known "hot spots" around the county, dipping in water sources to determine larvaciding needs.
"Larva control can keep the population from exploding but only if we know all the standing water problem areas," Seyedbagheri said.
