Edith Olsen
Edith M. Olsen, 96, of Mountain Home, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at a Mountain Home care center.
Final arrangements for a memorial service and inurnment in Kansas will be announced at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Edith was born on Oct. 8, 1917, the daughter of Leonard H. Bright and Eva M. Barnes Bright. She was one of 12 children.
She married Ole M. Olsen on Jan. 23, 1943, at Independence, Mo. Edith spent most of her life in Leavenworth, Kan., enjoying her many friends and family. She and Ole spent their many vacation together traveling on the Harley Davison motorcycle. During their married life they toured the United States and Canada on their Harley.
Edith moved to Mountain Home, in July of 2010, to live with Julianne Olsen and be near her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved very much.
Edith is survived by one granddaughter, Debra D. and her husband, Ron Bridgman, two grandsons, Ronald Sr. and his wife, Jodi Doerr, and James W. and his wife, Brenda Doerr, and Julianne Olsen, her former daughter-in-law, all of Mountain Home, Idaho, one grandson, Michael Olsen, seven great-grandchildren, Shawn Olsen, Kayla Bridgman, Ron Doerr, Jr., April Wells, Paula Doerr, Shelby Walsh and Derek Doerr, two great-great-grandchildren, Baylaa M. Walsh and Devon Wells, one great-grandson, Michael Olsen of Lansing, Kan., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ole Olsen, two sons, Ole Olsen, Jr. and Kenneth L. Olsen, one daughter, Mary Ann Olsen, six brothers, Joe, Wayne, Robert, William, Calvin and Ray, and four sisters, Lora Lena, Opal and Betty.
