Mother's Day 'gift' appreciated

Dear editor:

On Friday evening, May 9, my husband and I were dining at a local restaurant. Across the aisle from us was a giggling, young family. As the family was leaving, the father politely wished me Happy Mother's Day and in celebration had paid for my dinner.

Please allow me to express my gratitude to this individual and for his modeling of generosity to his children.

The family remains anonymous to me but will remain in my thoughts for a very long time. I indeed had a Happy Mother's Day!
