Christmas tree pick up scheduled

Republic Services will begin collecting live Christmas trees starting Monday, Jan. 6, as part of its weekly trash collection.

People with live trees are asked to cut them into four-foot sections and bundle the trunk and branches together before leaving them curbside.

As a reminder, the company requires customers to remove all ornaments, lights, garland and tinsel from live trees as part of its annual collection service. In addition, the company cannot accept flocked trees or wreaths.
