Lady Tigers rebound from loss to pick up win against Nampa
The Mountain Home girls battled back from a loss to Middleton to down Nampa last week in conference girls soccer.
Middleton 9, Mountain Home 0
A bad second half led to a 9-0 conference win by Middleton Tuesday at Eastside Park in Mountain Home.
Mountain Home battled Middleton tough in the first half, allowing just two goals to trail 2-0 at halftime, but the Lady Vikings scored at will in the second half to win 9-0.
"Middleton plays us tough, but I thought we had 'em at halftime," said Mountain Home girls soccer coach Kent Ogaard after the game.
"They had us 4-0 at halftime the last time we played them, and it was 2-0 this time, so I thought maybe we were going to do it," he said. "But then we had some breakdowns in defense and their speed on their forwards were just killing us, so we've got some retooling to do, and just keep plugging away. The good part about it is some of our players that don't get a lot of time got some time to play today and got some experience in the field, so we're just trying to get ready for the second half and see what we can manufacture.
"The frustrating part is these girls have such talent individually, we've just got to be able to gel it together as a team and see what we can do."
Missy Jessup had 17 saves on goal for Mountain Home.
Mountain Home 3, Nampa 1
The Lady Tigers picked up another conference girls soccer win Thursday, winning at Nampa 3-1.
Madison Roache scored two goals and Kodi Ryan had one. Hannah Bideganeta had an assist. Missy Jessup had nine saves on goal.
"It was a good effort by the girls," said Coach Ogaard. "Hopefully, we can get some momentum as we finish off the season and be seeded in the middle going into district."
