Call to intervene in Syrian Civil War defies all logic
Dear editor:
April 28, 2004, that's the day my world stopped. My beautiful son was killed in Iraq by a coward. Killed by an ignorant religious extremist with no respect for human life.
And here we are again, faced with the possibility of another war, only this time we will be helping the same faction of people who killed my son. It defies logic.
I wonder what goes through the minds of people who decide interfering in a country's civil war would be beneficial to our country? After watching the last few years as the sitting president has defied the constitution, I can't help but wonder why the men and women who swore to uphold our constitution would stand for this behavior?
Why would our citizens support it?
To aid and abet the enemy of this country is a treasonous act.
We are not the world's police and yet we act like it.
We hear how wrong it is to kill innocent children and yet we see the president endorse abortion and push for a war that will have the intended consequence of killing more of our children. It defies logic.
How many more lives do we need to lose before we say NO MORE?
Someone with no respect for human life is pushing us into a conflict that will have a disastrous outcome for each and every one of us.
I am a Gold Star Mom. I did not ask to be a member and there are no benefits to being a member. Just the day-to-day stark realization that your precious child, who you held in your arms, is gone.
For the love of our children, for the love of each other, we must say NO MORE WAR.
