Joy Ilene (Joyce) Moore, 95, passed away on Friday, Aug. 9, 2013.

She was born in Berryville, Ark., on Aug. 1, 1918, to Ova and Stella (Groskard) Everett and attended school in Lockwood, Mo.

She married Ted B. Moore in Gooding, Idaho, on Feb. 12, 1938. They were a devoted couple for 55 years until his death in 1993.

They began their married life working at various jobs in the Gooding area and in 1942, during the war, they moved to Vancouver, Wash., to work in the shipyards. In 1946, they moved to King Hill, Idaho, where Ted was employed as manager of the King Hill Irrigation District until retiring in 1978.

She retired from Mountain Home Air Force Base after working in the base commissary for many years.

Ted suffered a stroke in 1981 and the couple moved to Boise to be near the family. Joyce was a doting caregiver to Ted for 12½ years until his death.

They spent several winters in Yuma, Ariz., and made lots of new American and Canadian friends. They cherished many fond memories of their "snowbird" experiences.

She had a zest for life and was known for bringing family and friends together to celebrate all sorts of occasions. Until her eyesight failed, she loved to sew, knit, crochet and play cards.

Her faith in God was the center of her life. She attended Collister Community Church and participated in Bible studies and other activities with her loving church family.

She is survived by her three children, Carolyn Moore of Boise, Ron Moore of Weiser and Larry (Darlene) Moore of Boise, three grandchildren, Julia (Bill) Dresser, Jason (Sharelynn) Moore and Lisa (Cody) Lindley, and seven great-grandchildren, Joslyn, Tori, Jillian, Brady, Wyatt, Maxon and Sawyer.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Moore, her parents, two sisters, Velma Vaughn and Fern Loveland, and a granddaughter, Stephanie Joslyn.

The family would like to thank the staff of Garden Plaza of Valley View, the Bridge of Valley View, and Legacy Home Health & Hospice for the excellent care Joyce received during her last few months.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be held Friday, Aug. 16, at 1 p.m. at Collister Community Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Joyce's name to Collister Community Church, 4709 W. State St., Boise, ID 83703.
