Neckid Rednecks to headline concert in the park

The Neckid Rednecks will perform next July 12 in Carl Miller Park.

The annual free Concert in the Park series will kick off next week with the Neckid Rednecks appearing in Carl Miller Park from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, July 12.

Those attending the free concert are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets for seating around the stage near the F-111 static display. The event is sponsored by the Parks and Recreation and the Mountain Home Arts Council, as well as local businesses.

The Neckid Rednecks is a four-piece band based in Idaho with a "unique sound, which could be considered outlaw country," organizers of the event said. "They are sometimes caught hanging out with the likes of Pinto Bennett, Kip Attaway and Chris Wall."

David Lyle 'Pops' Evans (vocals, bass guitar, acoustic guitar) is also currently the bass player and vocalist for Western Underground. He has played with performers such as Garth Brooks, Cris LeDoux, Keith Urban, Charlie Daniels, Rascal Flatts, Chris Wall, Pinto Bennett, Ronnie Dunn, Restless Heart, Reckless Kelly, Doug Supernaw, Kip Attaway, Famous Motel Cowboys and Tarwater.

Brad Aggen (vocals, guitar, harmonica), has a new CD, "Long Ride" is available at CDbaby. He was a team roper in rodeos around the Northwest until he met Evans. The two formed several bands over the years, playing with Doug Supernaw, Pinto Bennett, Kip Attaway, Chris Wall and the Famous Motel Cowboys.

Roger Kennedy (lead guitar and vocals) has toured the U.S., including Alaska and Canada, with many bands. He has opened for Michael Martin Murphy, Big and Rich, Sawyer Brown, John Anderson, Shelly West and Tracy Bird.

Dave 'Drummer Dave' Stewart (drums) grew up in Wisconsin and played with many bands around the Chicago area and across the U.S. Dave also currently plays with a blues band out of Twin Falls called the Swamp Cats.

The Summer Concert Series will continue July 18 with Tarwater, July 26 with Blaze and Kelly, and Aug. 2 with Thomas Hutchings and Anomaly.

Concessions are available at the concerts.
