Larry Mouser
Lawrence "Larry" Jewel Mouser, 83, of Mountain Home, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at St. Luke's Long Term Care Unit in Mountain Home, of natural causes.
A memorial service, with military honors, will be held at 2:30 p.m., on Thursday, June 27, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
Larry was born April 12, 1930, in King Hill, the son of Marion and Gladys Mouser, and moved to Mountain Home as an infant. He was the oldest to three brothers, Elmer, Marion and Frank.
While serving in the U.S. Army and stationed in Richland, Wash., Larry met his future "lovely bride," Marjorie "Jean" McIntosh, and upon discharge they were married on Jan. 29, 1953, and moved to Mountain Home.
Larry was the father of five children, Dennis, Bill, Shelly, Kathy and Tami. He was also the grandfather "Papa" to ten grandchildren, and Papa the Great to ten great-grandchildren.
Larry owned and operated many automotive repair shops, but is best remembered for Mouser's Auto Repair, where he partnered with his son, Bill, for more than 30 years.
Larry enjoyed wearing many other hats, to include Scout Leader, police officer, fireman, baker, cowboy, fisherman and the one most often seen was an auto parts hat.
He also enjoyed reading, sitting on his deck with a cup of coffee and bird watching.
He will be greatly missed by many.
Larry is survived by his "lovely bride," Jean, his children, Bill and his wife, Sherrie Mouser, Shelly and her husband, Chris Adams, Kathy and her husband, Robert Carter, and Tami Mouser, all of Mountain Home, his brother, Frank Mouser, of California, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Dennis, and two brothers, Elmer and Marion.
