Spring Coffee House slated
The Spring Coffee House, hosted by the Literary Arts Committee of the Mountain Home Arts Council, will feature a reading and Q&A with Alan Heathcock, award-winning author of VOLT and a Literature Fellow for the state of Idaho.
Scheduled for this Friday, May 3, at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 3175 Foothills Ave. in Mountain Home, doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the program beginning at 7 p.m.
Copies of VOLT ($15, tax included) will be available for purchase at the event, while coffee and other beverages will be provided by Common Ground Coffee & Plants and homemade cookies by arts council patrons. Kim Monnier will serve as master of ceremonies. Alan Heathcock's fiction has been published in many of America's top magazines and journals. VOLT, a collection of stories, was a "Best Book 2011 selection from numerous newspapers and magazines. He has won a Whiting Award, the GLCA New Writers Award, and a National Magazine Award. He teaches fiction writing at Boise State University.
