Sheriff to conduct exercise at Glenns Ferry High
Thursday, March 21, 2013
The Elmore County Sheriff's Office will conduct an "active shooter" exercise March 28 at Glenns Ferry High School.
The drill will take place from roughly 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the school's annual spring break time.
The training exercise, held at the school each year for several years now, is designed to improve responses and techniques should a real-world event ever take place.
The sheriff's office said they were announcing the exercise in advance so that members of the public would not be concerned and possibly overreact to the presence of large numbers of law-enforcement officers at the school.
The sheriff's office provides all law enforcement for Glenns Ferry.
