Police and ambulances quickly converged on a small apartment building next to Hiler's Texaco on North 2nd East Street late Monday afternoon after authorities received a call concerning a man accidentally shot in the neck.

When police arrived they met with Gregory Smith, 57, of Mountain Home, who said that he and his friends were shooting with a BB gun at a target in the apartment when one of the BBs ricocheted, striking the victim.

  • I hope the 911 call was less informative than this article. I was walking by the residence when all the responders arrived. Two patrol vehicles, ambulance, three or four unmarked vehicles and another county vehicle. The victim walked to the ambulance. All for a BB gun, unbelievable.

BB guns can kill. Google "BB GUN DEATHS". I see 5 different deaths on the first page alone. All calls are taken seriously by our first responders here.
