Spontaneous support for vets thanked
Dear editor:
Thank you very much.
On Oct. 12, I was in line at the Dollar Tree store purchasing stocking caps. The lady behind me asked what I was going to do with so many caps.
I explained that every year we make up and deliver Christmas gift bags to the veterans in the nursing homes and the caps are one of the items that go in the bags.
I would like to thank the lady in front of me in line and the lady behind me in line who donated cash to help purchase these caps. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
Each Christmas the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 17 here in Mountain Home delivers these bags to veterans in nursing homes in town, Glenns Ferry, Hammett and the Boise Veterans Nursing Home. It is our way of saying "Thank You" to them for their service and sacrifice for all of us!
