Memorial display to honor area veterans

Displaying a sample of the engraved bricks planned for the new memorial at Carl Miller Park, Chamber of Commerce past president Lisa Harvel is joined by Mayor Tom Rist and chamber representatives Jeanna Still, Robby Robinson and Terri Exon during a presentation event Friday afternoon.

A memorial dedicated to military service members and veterans is starting to take shape in Mountain Home literally one brick at a time.

The initiative, launched by the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce, seeks to redesign the pedestal of the F-111 aircraft display at Carl Miller Park as a lasting tribute to those who currently serve or previously were part of the U.S. armed forces.

It looks as though the F111 could use a bath.
