Range fire destroys homes, structures

Little remained of a home and outlying structures along Contrail Road after a range fire swept across the property Monday evening. The blaze was responsible for destroying or damaging more than a dozen homes.
More than a dozen homes and outlying structures were destroyed after a range fire erupted on the city's south side Monday evening.
According to initial reports, the fire started off Airbase Road near Equine and Contrail roads around 7:30 p.m. with high winds pushing the flames toward the southeast.
